Most of the services that AnyHire.com provides to its users are free.

Unless you opt for some advanced services mostly related to promoting yourself on this site, the only fee that you are ever charged by AnyHire.com comes from your actual sales. So, if you don't make money, we don't. Even then, we try to keep our fees to the lowest possible level so that everyone can get on board to help make this site what it is meant to be - the ultimate one stop shop for everybody's hiring needs, whatever and wherever they might be.


Free services include:

  • setup of any type of account,
  • unlimited item listings, including both for hire as well as for sale items,
  • up to 3 free categories per item, additional categories possible,
  • 2 small images per item,
  • unlimited detailed descriptions,
  • unlimited branches,
  • unlimited business hour schedules,
  • unlimited discount schemes
  • multi-currency support
  • automatic price updates, inheritance and calculated price overrides (for different branches)
  • access to complex pricing schemes,
  • marking items for sale (on top of being available for hire)
  • access to advertising tools (the actual use of advertising tools is a paid service though)
  • 3rd party account authorizations

Transaction fees

The following section outlines transaction fees.

All prices below are in Australian Dollars (AUD).


Hire / Rental transaction fees

Transaction fees are charged per transaction to the item owner (the hirer). A 'transaction' is when an item is actually hired and paid for.

The transaction fee is the only fee that is not optional and only applies to hirers. It is only applicable if your items actually get hired. No hires = no fees = no worries. No out-of-pocket expenses, ever. When something of yours gets hired, we simply subtract these fees from the payment and the rest goes to you.

This is calculated per item, not per order or some other way, so the resulting transaction fee percentage for a particular order can be anywhere between 1 and 3%, depending on the combination of fees on the items contained in the order.
WARNING! This is to reward businesses who recognize the fact that they are saving on time of their staff by using AnyHire.com and want to pass that saving onto the customer. If you are found to be fixing prices on AnyHire.com in order to get these discounts, you will be charged all the applicable fees retrospectively + additional 3% penalty. This would be taken from any further transactions processed through AnyHire.com. Repeated offenders may be banned from the site.

According to the above table then, the total cost of a transaction for registered businesses will be between 3.2 and 5.2 percent of the total value of the transaction plus 30 cents.

Private hirers can receive permanent transaction fee discounts when they refer other users to AnyHire. For more information see the Referrals page.

According to the above table then, the total cost of a transaction for private hirers will be between 5.5 and 7.5 percent of the total value of the transaction plus 30 cents.

Sale transaction fees

Lenders can mark items as also available for sale. Until sold, all such items are also available for hire. Some sales may have to be scheduled for a future date if there are pre-existing hire bookings.

Money transfers

All customer payments are held in escrow until 3 days after the end of the hire period or 30 days, whichever comes first. This is done to protect both parties of the transaction and to help in resolving any disputes. After the transaction is concluded, the payment less the transaction fees is released for transfer to the hirer. These transfers are processed weekly.

NOTE: If you only accept payments in currencies other than your branch currency, you will incur a conversion fee when that payment is transferred to you at the end of a successful hire.

NOTE: If you happen to have products priced in different currency than the default currency of the branch from which the item is ordered, the price of that item will appear on the order converted to your branch default currency using a current exchange rate and fixed to that calculated value.

Item listing upgrades

As promised on our home page, you can define any number of items for hire and it won't cost you a cent/penny/dime, whatever your currency is.

Sometimes, though, you will want to make your item stand out and more attractive to your customers. Then you’ll need our advanced features.

For example, an item may need to belong to more than 3 categories (3 categories per item are free). Or the item may require a picture with large resolution to be attached, or it may need more than the 2 free small images to adequately depict the item. We do charge small additional fees for enhanced listings like these. These fees prevent misuse, and they help us cover the costs of the increased storage and processing power needed to server these features.

Additional or large images, documents, categories

2 small images (max. 300x300 pixels)* can be linked to every item for free. Additional images and other upgrades incur the following charges:

Outlines fees for temporarily discounting items listed on AnyHire.com and fees for directly promoting items.

Temporary item discounts

We encourage the professional hirers to permanently discount items they list on AnyHire.com by offering those hirers discounts on transaction fees. Temporary (seasonal) discounts can be highlighted on AnyHire.com. These are a form of advertising and attract the following fees.

You can define item promotions on the My Inventory > Settings > Discounts page.

Item promotions

Promoted items are always listed at top of searches and are highlighted with a different background color. Promoting an item ensures that users will always see it on the first page of their related searches.

You can define item promotions on the My Inventory > Settings page.

AnyHire.com allows businesses to offer to their customers branded private shops with standardised layout with which their customers are already familiar.


Private shops & Website

Private shops make it easy for your customers to find additional items to hire from their preferred hire businesses. They only list your items and only those categories these items belong to.

Customer cancellation fees

Quoted and not yet paid items can be cancelled at any time. However, by paying for any booked items the customer enters into a contract between them and the hirer. The hirer is reserving the booked item for the customer and cannot hire it to anyone else during the same time. If a paid item is cancelled, this can result in the owner's financial loss due to wasted oportunity to hire the item to someone else. For this reason, cancellations may incur cancellation fees depending on how close to the actual hire was the cancellation requested. If too close to the start of the hire, the customer will loose part of or their entire payment in favour of the owner and/or AnyHire.com according to the following tables:

Business hires

Every business can specify their own cancellation fees schedule. These can be found on the item detail pages.

If no special cancellation terms are specified by the business the following schedule applies:

or50%*If the hire is cancelled before one time the length of the hire period before the scheduled commencement up to one times the length of the hire period before, unless it was paid in the past 3 days. The item owner gets 35%.
or70%*If the hire is cancelled before one day prior to the start of the hire. The owner gets 50%.
or100%*If the hire is cancelled with less than 1 day notice before the start of the hire period. The owner gets 80%.
* Plus any credit card cancellation fees on the refunded amount (usually these are 0 if the cancellation occurs within 60 days of the payment).

Populating your inventory

Populating your inventory, especially if you have many items, may pose a resource availability challenge for you. Be it money, time or both we can help. Just send us your data in any format, attach pictures and make it possible to match them to the items and our trained staff will enter your items into the main AnyHire.com item directory for you.

Apart from sending us the data, you will have to authorize AnyHire as your stock administrator for the duration of this operation.

Advertising on AnyHire.com

This section applies to general advertisers wishing to advertise on AnyHire.com.

IMPORTANT: If you are a hire/rental business registered on AnyHire.com, you have many more advertising options.

In an effort to keep the site clean and to the point, there are only two pages throughout the whole site where anyone can advertise. See the table below for info on where these spots are and their pricing.
